ANTHC Healthy Communities
Building
Collaborative design-build with Watterson Construction and Perkins+Will
In keeping with ANTHC’s mission to serve the Alaska Native healthcare organizations across the state, the Healthy Communities Building for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is designed to enhance the identity and brand image of ANTHC, while complementing and linking to the existing campus facilities.
The building space focused on flexibility, daylight harvesting and maximizing building use. Finishes were designed to reflect the brand image and showcase ANTHC’s extensive Native Alaska art collection.
The new office building is linked to the existing ANTHC office building on the campus in Anchorage. The campus master plan and site amenities focus on links to the trail system and other campus facilities. Occupied by the Division of Environmental Health and Engineering and the Division of Community Health Services, the 85,000-Sq-Ft facility was completed in 2012 at a construction cost of $24,000,000 and was designed to LEED Silver standards, with energy efficiency as a key building performance goal.
