Minimum Applicant Skills:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
  • 1-2 years of work experience in the field of architecture is preferred, but not required.
  • The ability to read and understand architectural and engineering drawings, sketches, and information, including the ability to communicate with others to clarify and coordinate project efforts.
  • Aptitude in Autodesk Revit

Beneficial Applicant Skills:

  • Experience or proficiency with additional design and graphic software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp, and Autocad

Accounting Associate

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist and report to Senior Accountant
  • Support firm management team
  • Basic bookkeeping
  • Assist with payroll processing, and tax and audit tasks
  • Review and prepare vendor invoices for approval and payment
  • Assist in coding and tracking invoices and expenses for the department
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and year-end financial documents
  • Prepare project contract documents
  • Preserve confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Manage documents and records
  • Correspondence with clients and consultants
  • Assist with office administration/operations as a backup

Required and encouraged experience: 

  • Higher Education or Associate Degree in Accounting
  • Relevant 5-year minimum professional accounting experience, including payroll and invoicing for private company
  • Working experience in accounting software, preferred with Axium Ajera
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business English, spelling and punctuation, general office practices and procedures

DESCRIPTION

LEadership and MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain high levels of client service, communication, design, and production.
  • Manage and track assigned project budgets and invoicing.
  • Ensure project quality.
  • Help mentor landscape architecture team members to guide and support professional growth and career goals.
  • Contribute to landscape architecture visioning and growth.
  • Assist with identifying operational gaps and inefficiencies and help make improvements.
  • Coordinate and collaborate regularly on firm goals with senior leadership team.
  • Identify appropriate methods for new staff recruitment.

CHARACTER, SKILLS & INTERESTS

  • Free, boundless designer is a plus, but at a minimum, a solid, process-based designer who can help create buildable, inspiring solutions.

Education & other Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program.
  • Licensed in Alaska as a professional landscape architect or the intent to gain Alaska licensure via reciprocity.
  • 3-10 years of work experience as a landscape architect and project manager.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/ Autodesk Civil 3D & MS Office and Teams.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp; proficiency is a plus.
  • Willing to work in the field to perform necessary construction administration.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to and work in other office locations within Alaska.

As an intern, you will have opportunity to gain knowledge and work experience as part of an integrated architecture and interiors project team. You may assist on a range of assignments while working under the direct supervision of a more senior Interior Designer.

This is a paid internship opportunity. You will gain practical experience working with integrative teams, understand the design and construction process, and learn how a design firm operation.
