She was a founding member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Alaska Chapter and is a Certified Professional Services Marketer. Her background includes 20 years of experience in community outreach, business leadership, management, marketing, public relations, professional writing, and team coaching. She excels at public speaking, relationship building, and leadership roles, working with executive teams on strategic planning and visioning, innovation initiatives, and staff development and mentorship to create sustainable, thriving organizations and help team members at all levels reach their full potential.
In 2009, Leah co-founded Parks for All, a grassroots initiative to bring inclusive play to Alaska. Anchorage now has 14 inclusive playgrounds with more in the works, and Leah is now acting in an advisory role, volunteering, advocating, and fundraising to help communities in Alaska implement inclusive play and inclusive design. She assisted in creating the Anchorage Inclusive Play Symposium and speaks publicly about Parks for All, raising awareness and teaching young leaders how to engage in their communities, innovate, and develop their personal brands. Leah’s words to live by are “Decide your own destiny,” and “If you can dream it, you can do it,” (Walt Disney), and she applies these mottos to her community work, volunteering on boards and committees wherever possible to make Alaska’s communities better places to live, work, and play. Leah grew up in the mountains of Montana and Idaho and now lives in Anchorage with her husband Nate, Executive Director of Challenge Alaska, and their daughters Anna (13) and Adeline (2). They spend their free time skiing with Challenge Alaska in Girdwood in the winter and waterskiing on Big Lake in the summer.
