Roy Rountree brings more than 30 years of experience as an architect in Alaska and a principal of the firm’s Anchorage office. Roy’s genuine concern for meeting the client’s needs is coupled with vast experience in project management and construction. Born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, he has a great sensitivity toward the natural environment and knowledge of Alaska’s varying climates and their demands on materials and buildings. His experience throughout the state has resulted in culturally appropriate, climatically responsive, and sustainable projects, providing exceptional value to the client.
Roy oversaw the firm’s transition from 2D design to collaborative design using 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. He fully understands the benefits this technology offers for the design team, owner, and contractor.
Roy’s love for being outdoors brings him back to the banks of the Copper River every year on his annual dip netting expedition. The office eagerly awaits his successful return, as we are rewarded with jars of his famous smoked sockeye salmon.
